Podcast edits

Last week  I actually was able to record with two of my buddies and it went pretty well. I learned a lot about them both. Also, I learned some things when recording and what worked and what didn't. It was definitely a cool experience as I previously had experience doing podcasts like last year, on a class project. I was a bit nervous to do it at first but gradually the tone changed as i realized my two friends did better than I expected.

With one of my friends who was also a fan of anime, really surprised me on how much he knew about it. His knowledge was just so cool to witness because I knew he was a huge fan, but this guy is a walking anime guide. He had knowledge on the different shows and genres. Even the origin of anime. Although, he did talk a lot, he really helped me gain knowledge of my own and gave me some good material to work with. i was very grateful of him volunteering to come on my podcast.

When it came to the other, he was like a sponge just absorbing everything in as he was hearing new information himself. He did his best to talk about the little knowledge he had on anime and he continue to stay open to new ideas. When he started to ask us questions he really started to get into it more. The flow that he created was perfect for transiting to a different segment. Overall, both of them did an amazing job.

Some challenges came along as far the audio. I used my phone as the recording device, which is picks up things pretty well, but a microphone would have been better. Another challenge that might come along is choosing what content to edit out and keep. There is just so much that I would like to keep in this podcast, but at a certain point there is a time limit.

As challenges came along, I feel like a lot of things worked out pretty well. As i said before my two friends were awesome and I learned new things about them. I created smooth and natural transitions in between segments. The place we recorded was my room and it was nice and quiet, just a little bit of background noise. Mostly everything worked out pretty well and i am excited to keep working on this. Peace.

Update:
So now I have officially started the editing stage for my podcast. So far I just need to add my voice over parts on some summarized sections of the podcast because it's about 20 minutes long. Once again it was just awesome sharing a platform with my friends and they were really great guest. I am excited to continue to work on this podcast and I might wish to do more. Look out for the official final product of the podcast next time. It's coming soon. Peace.

  1. Sounds like you're going to have an interesting podcast to listen to. I feel like your topic could bring in such a large, loyal fanbase if you ever wanted to start an anime podcast in the future. It could help you bring in some cash on the side if you get popular haha. I'm excited to hear your podcast..!

  2. I am looking forward to listening to your podcast as I am not a fan of anime, so maybe this podcast can give me some insight. I don't know why this genre is so popular. The only anime I thought was truly amazing and perhaps I should not label it as anime but otherwise, I am not sure what to call it is Castlevania. I think it is cool how you have two sides of the conversation; someone like me can relate to the person who does not watch anime. If you do end up doing more podcasts or are interested in it I found an inexpensive microphone on amazon a while back that is pretty good quality. The name was Fifine Microphone , just a possible option If you do more of these kinds of recordings.

  3. J, without even looking at your post, or anything, I want to let you know how excited I was when you told the class what your podcast idea was. I was ecstatic and enthralled to see what you were going to end up piecing together. As I have been mention on other blogs, I am gonna be listening to everyone's podcasts over the weekend, and yours is the one I am most excited for.

I love anime, and I can't wait to hear both your take, and your friends'.
